The Four Corners Fossil-Fuel Generating plant is located 18 miles west of Farmington, a community of about 40,000, in the northwest region of New Mexico.

Because the Four Corners Fossil-Fuel Generating plant is on the Navajo Reservation,  Navajo preference will apply in the job selection. 

Summary

As a Work Week Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring maintenance and project work is executed seamlessly; from planning and prioritization through closeout. You’ll collaborate closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to develop weekly schedules that balance safety, reliability, and efficiency across our generation facilities.

In this role, you’ll be the central point of coordination, ensuring work activities are logically sequenced, resources are aligned, and emergent work is managed without missing a beat. Key Skills & Tasks:

Work Planning – Develop and maintain detailed weekly work schedules that support operational and maintenance priorities.
Coordination – Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and planning teams to align work activities and resource availability.
Prioritization – Evaluate competing demands and determine the optimal sequencing of scheduled and emergent work.
Execution Oversight – Monitor progress throughout the week to ensure timely completion and quality performance.
Communication – Facilitate daily and weekly meetings to keep stakeholders informed of schedule status, changes, and progress.
Problem-Solving – Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, resource gaps, and emerging issues that could impact execution.
Documentation – Track and close out completed work, ensuring accuracy in records and performance data.
Process Improvement – Recommend and implement enhancements to scheduling processes for greater efficiency and reliability.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five (5) years experience in a Power Plant in Operations or Maintenance or Planning
    • Equivalent industry will be considered in place of Power Plant experience.

OR 

  • Bachelor's degree in relatable field
  • Three (3) years experience in a Power Plant in Operations or Maintenance or Planning.
    • Equivalent industry will be considered in place of Power Plant experience.
  • Must possess strong verbal communication
  • Project management skills
  • Strong proficiency in PC software applications
  • Ability to work effectively in matrixed teams to accomplish business results across multiple departments.
  • Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration.

Major Accountabilities

1) Consistently demonstrate compliance with the APS Code of Conduct and Core Values.

2) Acts as management's single point of contact to oversee and drive problem resolutions to help ensure schedule adherence and execution.

3) Prioritizes scope and timing for on-going and emergent work. Adjusts as changes occur. Optimizes personnel and equipment resources.

4) Oversees the final development, coordination and implementation of work plans and schedules for the plant.

5) Once work order package is received, uses discretion, independent judgment and technical knowledge to assure scope and specific work plan will address the identified deficiency(s).

6) Uses Maximo and associated software in the development and implementation of work weeks in accordance with the work management process.

7) Coordinates emergent work and assessment of impact on scheduled activities and changes of work priorities within tight timeframe constraints.

8) Reinforces expectations concerning the work management process and holds others accountable.

9) Reviews all work packages for the necessary craft skills, duration and number required to perform the work.

10) Review equipment subject to work order to determine that the materials and equipment necessary for the work package are included.

11) Review work packages that correct plant procedures, permits, etc. necessary to perform the work (Pre-job brief, JHA, LOTO, Foreign Material Exclusion, Confined Space permits, etc.) are included.

12) Ensures Environmental Best Management Practices are addressed and included as part of the work package review.

13) Functions as scheduler when required.

Onsite: Requires work to be performed in the field and/or at an APS facility.  Depending on the responsibilities of the role, this may include, but is not limited to, working at a power plant, job site, or in the community.

CIP Requirement:
This position requires Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) access consistent with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards. The applicant considered for this role will be required to obtain and maintain CIP access for the duration of employment in this position. A full seven (7) year criminal history will be obtained through the pre-employment background check process (or, for current employees, through supplemental background check process) to fulfill the CIP access requirements. In addition, this position requires an additional background check every seven years to maintain access.
