Summary

As a Generation Engineering Intern, you’ll gain hands-on, project-based experience designed to immerse you in real-world engineering challenges within the power generation industry. The intern will work alongside experienced engineers on initiatives that support operational efficiency, system reliability, and sustainability across non-nuclear generation facilities. 

 

This paid, temporary full-time internship spans 10 weeks during the summer. Interns receive mentorship, professional development, opportunities for site visits, networking, and more.

Minimum Requirements

  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university undergraduate or graduate degree program.
  • Must show ongoing achievement in areas of study and training.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 3.0 GPA or higher. 

Major Accountabilities

1) Performs simple to intermediate analysis and designs. May assist in preparing business/engineering plans, designs, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations and studies.

2) Assists in research, business documentation, studies or technical reviews. Conducts analyses, investigations, verifications and summarizes results or findings in written reports or oral presentations.

3) Utilizes internal resources to learn business/engineering operations/functions and apply learning in completion of work assignments.

4) Coordinates efforts with other disciplines, and/or departments in achieving project goals and task assignments.

5) Performs other related duties as required.

CIP Requirement:

This position requires Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) access consistent with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards. The applicant considered for this role will be required to obtain and maintain CIP access for the duration of employment in this position. A full seven (7) year criminal history will be obtained through the pre-employment background check process (or, for current employees, through supplemental background check process) to fulfill the CIP access requirements. In addition, this position requires an additional background check every seven years to maintain access.

 

Location-Based Role:
This position requires employees to work at the (Location), with some flexibility. Flexibility will be determined with the hires employee and leadership, but the ultimate decision is the company's.
