Summary
APS is seeking a Business Operations Analyst, Senior to act as System Subject Matter Expert and to lead and coordinate metering operations across procurement, system integration, and customer support. This role is critical to ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and a seamless customer experience.
What you will do:
- Coordinate and track meter orders, deliveries, testing schedules, inventory levels, and vendor relationships
- Collaborate with APS warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate distribution
- Plan and manage system testing, acceptance, and integration with IT systems
- Develop and improve procedures in partnership with consultants and technical specialists
- Monitor customer communications and escalate issues in coordination with Customer Experience (CX) teams
- Handle customer claims, complaints, and support access follow-ups
- Assist maintenance support teams with AMI HES overflow issues (non-communication, mismatches, lost meters)
- Report on procurement, distribution, and installation activities

Minimum Requirements
- BS/BA equivalency or an equivalent combination of four years relevant work experience and relevant college coursework in business, information technology or a related area.
- An additional five (5) years of progressively responsible experience where strong understanding of business unit operations, business unit systems, database design, structure, functions and work processes and experience with database tools is obtained.
- Previous experience with the systems specific to the business area may also be required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of business processes and operational knowledge including functions, procedures, processes, and computer systems.
- Ability to identify process improvement opportunities, gaps, data analysis and recommended solutions which tie functional needs to technology solutions.
- Demonstrated project/team experience and ability to prioritize work.
- Ability to review data, see relationships and patterns, as well as possess strong analytical, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Experience in managing projects and identifying and resolving issues.
- Expertise in PC applications including advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.
- Requires proficient knowledge of emerging practices and technologies used within the business area.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and standards impacting business areas.
- Demonstrated communication skills, both verbal and written.

Flex Role:
This position is not required to be performed at a specific APS facility as long as adequate technology and a solid ergonomic set up are present. Pending agreement with leadership, employees hired into this role will be able to choose where they prefer to perform their work, but the ultimate decision is the company's. Employees will have two options to choose from:
- APS office based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from an APS facility.
- Home based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from his/her home.
*Employees in Flex roles are required to reside in Arizona (or NM for Four Corners-based employees). Role types are subject to change based on business need.
