We’re looking for a Energy/IT Solutions Analyst to help shape the future of our Energy Management and GIS systems. In this role, you’ll design, develop, and maintain critical systems like EMS, SCADA, and WebGIS—applications that power reliability, safety, and operational excellence for the enterprise.

 

What your day would be like:
You are responsible for:

  • Analyzing, researching, and implementing improvements to the Energy Management System (EMS), SCADA system, and other control center automation tools.
  • Supporting and enhancing WebGIS and GIS Edge integrations used by over 1,000 employees across the company.
  • Managing GIS data wrangling to meet both regulatory and business needs.
  • Partnering with teams to ensure reliable WebGIS operations and support strategic GIS business initiatives.
  • Acting as backup support for GIS integrations that connect with critical systems including Fire Mitigation, Customer Care & Billing (CCB), Maximo, ADMS, and Utilisphere.
  • Preparing for the upcoming GIS Utility Network implementation, ensuring secure patching, vulnerability mitigation, and adherence to strict contractual timelines.
  • Collaborating with system integrators and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution over the next 2.5 years.

Minimum Requirements

Energy / IT Solutions Analyst, III | IT Applications

  • Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field
  • PLUS five (5) years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
  • Requires strong technical knowledge within a job area or system and basic knowledge across related technical areas

 

Energy / IT Solutions Analyst, Senior | IT Applications

  • Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field
  • PLUS seven (7) years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
  • Requires in-depth level of technical knowledge within a job area and working knowledge of other technical areas.



Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of safety policies, practices and procedures; basic knowledge of computer science and/or engineering; generation, transmission and distribution system design, operations, and procedures; systems software and database administration; network and workstation technologies; technical issues related to energy management systems and applications; software, hardware and telecommunication; systems for real-time data collection and exchange. Skill in developing and writing technical documentation; evaluating and testing emerging technologies
  • SQL (Structured Query Language); statistics, mechanics, and physics; technical writing; testing different types of equipment, such as flow meters; Microsoft office, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to troubleshoot Windows and Linux environments; provided off hours support as part of an on-call rotation; work well on a team; works well with customers/clients; problem solve; thinks innovatively; gives high level of attention to detail

Major Accountabilities

1) Applies deep knowledge in specific technical areas to process, provides support with, and solves large and complex support requests within the energy management system (EMS), the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system, and other electric control center automation systems
2) Contributes to development of new, innovative EMS and SCADA support processes and tools
3) Leads high level troubleshooting of the SCADA system
4) Leads and communicates development of service, implementation and support procedures
5) Analyzes performance reports from across practices and contributes to resulting strategic business decisions
6) Identifies and independently assesses impact of high risk changes and institutes organization-wide mitigation actions
7) Migrates and deploys highly complex solutions
8) Creates and implements more complex improvements that mitigate risks and create a more reliable and efficient electrical grid
9) Sets best practices for EMS solution alignment with relevant industry, regulatory and technical requirements
10) Provides guidance and assistance to other employees as the lead
11) May manage large projects or initiatives
