Summary
The Federal/ State Regulatory Consultant maintains the organization's ongoing relationships with regulatory commissions/authorities. Coordinates and conducts the assessment of internal controls to ensure compliance as required by regulatory commissions/authorities. Develops programs and processes to manage complaint cases brought to regulatory authorities and develops process improvements to avoid future complaints. Advances organization positions with internal and external parties. Prepares and sponsors testimony to governmental or regulatory agencies
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- And a minimum 7 years' related regulatory compliance experience, including 2 years utility-based experience.
- In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education and experience totally 11 years is required.
- Broad and in-depth knowledge of federal and regional electric utility industry and associated regulatory / legislative issues and related compliance requirements.
Major Accountabilities
1) Leads compliance reviews related to the operational and technical requirements of regulatory commissions/ authorities.
2) Prepares and coordinates complex filings to various state and local regulatory agencies.
3) Manages critical complaint case tracking and resolution.
4) Researches and provides information to regulatory bodies.
5) Acts as a subject matter expert to support all regulatory and compliance activities.
6) Develops guidelines and procedures to address regulatory requirements and/or findings.
