IT Network Administrator I / II | Data Center Operation
What Your Day Would Be Like:
As an IT Network Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, security, and availability of our telecom and network infrastructure. Your day will include monitoring network traffic, identifying and resolving issues, and proactively driving efficiencies to improve performance. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain quality standards, implement enhancements, and support the overall stability of our data center operations.
You Are Responsible For:
- Managing and maintaining network infrastructure and telecom systems.
- Monitoring network traffic, system performance, and uptime to ensure efficiency and availability.
- Troubleshooting and resolving network issues to minimize downtime.
- Supporting system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.
- Driving process improvement, efficiency, and standardization across network operations.
- Collaborating with IT teams and business units to ensure compliance with security and network quality standards.
- Documenting processes, issues, and resolutions to support knowledge sharing and continuity.

- Hands-on experience with network infrastructure and data center operations.
- Strong knowledge of telecom, network monitoring tools, and troubleshooting methods.
- Understanding of network security, protocols, and quality standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across IT and business functions.
Minimum Requirements
IT Network Administrator I | Data Center Operation
- Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field
- PLUS one (1) year of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience
- Requires basic technical subject matter knowledge within a job area or system
IT Network Administrator II | Data Center Operation
- Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field
- PLUS two (2) years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience
- Requires working technical knowledge gained through experience within a job area or system
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications - Knowledge of basic internet protocols (IP), internet filters, software applications, firewalls, routing protocols/configurations and Ethernet functioning; fiber optic communications practices; networks services, computer security, multiple operating systems/computer platforms and system operations; data security and recovery practices
- Ability to ensure stable and reliable network services in access products, service networks and the central network; perform daily network performance monitoring; complete troubleshooting of networks and fault analysis; troubleshoot and repair hardware; software and programs; deploy and maintain network monitoring, use analysis and reporting tools/programs; effectively analyze telecom problems and conduct effective diagnoses of networks
Major Accountabilities
1) Performs routine activities related to network monitoring
2) Focuses on learning and acquiring work skills/knowledge in the Network Operations and Maintenance field
3) Supports daily maintenance and administration of network operations
4) Diagnoses and resolves issues
5) Documents network issues
6) Redirects and/or escalates issues for resolution
7) Uses tools and procedures to monitor network performance
8) Assists efforts to enhance network efficiency and reliability
9) Provides support to experienced team members

CIP Requirement:
This position requires Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) access consistent with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards. The applicant considered for this role will be required to obtain and maintain CIP access for the duration of employment in this position. A full seven (7) year criminal history will be obtained through the pre-employment background check process (or, for current employees, through supplemental background check process) to fulfill the CIP access requirements. In addition, this position requires an additional background check every seven years to maintain access.
