Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Controls Analyst Senior  to support project managers in delivering successful projects through robust forecasting, scheduling, and performance tracking. In this role, you will play a critical part in monthly, annual, and long-range project forecasting while monitoring schedule and cost performance across multiple initiatives.

You will collaborate closely with project managers and key stakeholders to identify and address project delays or variances, ensuring timely progress toward completion. Additionally, you will work at both the departmental and PMO levels to resolve project-related issues and implement effective controls that drive execution and accountability.

This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for driving results in a dynamic project environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • A four-year Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or other job-related field from an accredited college or university plus five (5) years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, data analysis and/or finance-related positions.
  • In lieu of bachelors degree, combination of college coursework and/or experience in financial analysis, accounting, data analysis and/or finance-related positions equaling nine (9) years.



    Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of Project Management Institute project controls principles.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Project Management System (EPMS) and Power Plan.
  • Knowledge of long-range forecast process.
  • Experience using Microsoft applications (Excel, Word).

Major Accountabilities

1) Supports the monthly accounting process by preparing monthly accruals, variance explanations and completing stage gate reviews including budget estimates and forecasts. Analyzes and manages financial data for projects and programs to ensure accuracy for medium to complex projects. Prepares journal voucher (JV) requests to ensure projects are properly stated at all times. Collaborates with accounting, FBO, engineering and PMO and provides guidance as needed.

2) Analyzes Program activities to measure adherence, performance and productivity. Reviews and accepts baseline schedules. Verifies Current Work Plan (CWP) with Project Manager to ensure accuracy with EPMS and other T&D systems. Performs project change order (PCO) reconciliation and follow-up for projects. Performs project trending and projections (e.g., quantity, timeline, cost changes, etc.). Reviews and accepts stage gate 0 estimates. Verifies project steps are followed accurately to ensure good project governance and control. Monitors and tracks project schedules to ensure they are aligned with forecasts/budget and in-service dates. Performs purchase order (PO) and material obligation tracking for medium to complex projects. Performs construction bid, request for information (RFI), tracking and processing of change order and adjustments. Creates work orders in Maximo including Compatible Unit (CU) estimates.

3) Performs vendor invoice reconciliation by identifying and resolving billing issues with vendors and contractors. Reviews and ensures vendor billing accuracy by ensuring billings align with purchase order, agreements and work performed.

4) Prepares schedules, data and reports for Rate Case, Budget/Long-Range Forecast (LRF) Process, and T&D Management. Supports Engineers, Project Managers, and other T&D departments with reports and data requests.

5) Prepares information for monthly capital approval board meetings.

6) Reviews activities and data to develop efficiency initiatives for the department. Identifies/recommends process improvements. Assists department consultants with executing improvement activities/initiatives. Analyzes data to identify metric drivers and improvement solutions.


7) Assists in some training of junior cost analysts.
