This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across teams to maintain system integrity, ensure compliance, and streamline software release cycles.

What your day would look like:

You are responsible for:

  • Managing and maintaining the inventory of project software, system documentation, and configuration baselines across environments.
  • Overseeing source code management, version control, and audit readiness in alignment with corporate standards.
  • Administering and improving tracking systems and repositories to support smooth software development and release cycles.
  • Performing environmental visioning and configuration control to ensure the stability and consistency of development, testing, and production environments.
  • Collaborating with developers, QA teams, and project managers to coordinate code integration, releases, and deployments.
  • Ensuring accurate documentation and traceability of changes to support internal compliance and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Requirements

Release & Configuration Analyst, Senior

  • Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field
  • PLUS five (5) years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
  • Requires in-depth level of technical knowledge within a job area and working knowledge of other technical areas

 

Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications

  • Knowledge of change management frameworks; use of change management tools and software deployment processes utilized in the enterprise; mainframe and/or web programming languages and techniques; common configuration techniques; multiple project software interfaces and hardware systems; common release and release/configuration documentation practices; interpretation and application of source codes
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills; reviewing and evaluating various types of releases for process compliance
  • Ability to develop and write technical documentation; provide clear and concise communication with all release stakeholders; learn release component deployment processes and techniques; demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations and streamline work processes
  • Ability to respond to requests for service and assistance; effectively resolve conflicts; maintain confidentiality

Major Accountabilities

1) Effectively coordinates and tracks the software release process, configuration baselines, source code, control system and tracking systems
2) Assigns change orders for deployment; Ensures and documents successful completion of changes
3) Responsible for maintenance of control systems and tracking systems
4) Conducts configuration audits and takes action to resolve issues
5) Assists with setting baselines according to configuration management plans and strategy
6) Maintains configuration management plans; Follows standard IT practices including Change Management, Release Management, and necessary coding/configuration guidelines
7) Reviews configuration change proposals for compliance to established guidelines, standards, policies and procedures
8) Assesses potential change impacts
9) Monitors and tracks required change-related metrics
10) Owns specific deployment problems and actively coordinates with various groups for resolution
11) Educates and trains others on the change process
12) Responsible for the performance of multiple application environments
