Summary

Performs start-up, maintenance, troubleshooting, modification, and repair of computer systems, assists other disciplines with computer system activities, and monitors and trains Computer Maintenance Technician.

Minimum Requirements

Requires AA degree in Computer Networking/Electronics and three years experience or High School diploma or equivalent and five years experience such as I+C Technician, Computer Technician work.
Must be certified to ANSI/ANS 3.1, 4.5.2. (1978).

Preferred Skills:

Physical Security Maintenance experience (Cameras, doors, zones)

Aerial Lift qualification

Uninterruptable Power Supply


Testing:
EEI MASS Test administered.

Nuclear requirement: Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member. This is a condition of employment at PVNGS. Roles and Responsibilities defined in Policy 1503 and implementing policy guide are applicable to all PVNGS employees.

Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage. This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.

This position may require access to and/or use of information subject to control under the Department of Energy's Part 810 Regulations (10 CFR Part 810), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) (15 CFR Parts 730 through 774), or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (22 CFR Chapter I, Subchapter M Part 120 ) (collectively, U.S. Export Control Laws).

Major Accountabilities

1) Performs and documents preventive and corrective maintenance and system modifications on assigned computers according to instructions, procedures, and specifications.

2) Writes procedures for diagnostic testing and maintenance in accordance with station procedures.

3) Supports other disciplines in start-up, maintenance, operations, and interface activities.

4) Supports start-up of new systems by providing technical information, manufacturing special equipment, performing calibrations, simulating inputs and equipment operation, required for a timely installation and test phase.

5) Monitors job skills and knowledge of Computer Maintenance Technician Trainees, providing on-the-job training and technical assistance as required.

6) Assists in providing user training regarding computer operation.

7) Studies independently and attends on-site system-related and vendor training sessions as directed by supervisor.

Tests are only administered to referred candidates. More information about our tests and the testing process can be found HERE. 


A test using a computer with keyboard will be administered.

This position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site, due to the nature of work.  

 

 

Any PVGS employee may be called upon for random Fitness For Duty Testing (FFD) during scheduled working hours. Employees must report to FFD at Palo Verde as soon as reasonably practicable, but no more than 120 minutes after being notified. Employees who are onsite when notified will have no more than 60 minutes to report after being notified.
