Summary
The Support Technician provides high-level analytical, administrative, and technical support to the Palo Verde Human Resources department. This role requires discretion, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of HR practices, company policies, and department procedures. The position frequently handles confidential information and supports a wide range of HR functions.
Serving as a key liaison between employees and the HR team, the Support Technician helps facilitate communication and ensure the smooth delivery of HR programs and services.
This role directly supports the Director of Human Resources, HR Business Partner, and the Talent Acquisition team, contributing to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the department.
Minimum Requirements
- High school graduate/GED
- four (4) years experience in advanced administrative positions
- OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four (4) years experience using Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications (or similar computer applications).
- Knowledge in a specialized department function including department practices, programs, plans and policies.
- Knowledge of computer systems and applications related to department or function support.
- Ability to analyze data and formulate conclusions.
- Ability to prepare reports, trends and/or recommendations.
- Ability to present ideas in an effective manner, orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees and the general public.
Nuclear requirement: Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.This is a condition of employment at PVNGS.Roles and Responsibilities are applicable to all PVNGS employees.Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage. This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.
Major Accountabilities
1) Performs activities to support the administration, coordination, analysis, communication, development, design, testing and/or implementation of department programs, plans and policies.
2) Audits, tracks and maintains appropriate documentation for functional area programs.
3) Prepares department tools, guides, matrices and other supporting materials.
4) Consults with team members on informational requirements.
5) Gathers, collects, records, tracks and verifies data and information from multiple sources.
6) Provides data and information to others on functional area processes and procedures.
7) Researches, compiles, reviews, analyzes, manipulates and summarizes data to create a wide variety of reports, charts and presentations for management review, meetings and events.
8) Serves as user support for department's computer-based systems by generating reports/queries and maintaining databases.
9) Participates in the testing and implementation of systems to enhance and support business processes and information needs.
10) Utilizes software and various computerized systems for functional area to compile and generate reports, statistics, timelines, tables, graphs, correspondence and presentations.
11) Maintains related documentation, queries and/or department databases containing confidential information to ensure compliance with federal regulations and corporate policies.
12) Examines transactions or information to insure compliance with rules and regulations.
13) Discusses discrepancies with appropriate contacts.
14) Troubleshoots problems with departmental office equipment (i.e. computers, printers, copiers, etc.) and initiates resolution.
15) Trains others in the use of departmental office equipment.
16) Provides orientation, work direction or training to other administrative support positions in the department when necessary.
17) Coordinates event planning responsibilities for department meetings, training sessions and conferences when necessary.
18) Plans program, agenda and services according to customer requirements.
19) Coordinates services for events and arranges availability of audio-visual equipment, transportation, displays, catering, signage, printing and other event needs.
20) Conducts planning meetings, prepares communication and documents as necessary.
21) Monitors event progress and makes modifications/changes as appropriate.
22) Reviews event bills for accuracy.

Hybrid Role:
This position combines working in the office and at home, based on the needs of the business. The schedule will be determined with the hired employee and leadership, but the ultimate decision is the company's. While it is hybrid, a majority of the four day work week is spent at Palo Verde. This is dependent on schedules and on site commitments.
Any PVGS employees may be called upon for random Fitness for Duty (FFD) testing during scheduled working hours. Employees, if off-site, must report to FFD at Palo Verde as soon as reasonably practicable, but no more than 120 minutes after being notified. Employees who are onsite when notified will have no more than 60 minutes to report after being notified.
